'Lacock at War' Victory in Europe 70th Anniversary, 15th & 16th August 2015

From the West Wiltshire MVT website:
'This is now our third appearance at Lacock Village and we have decided to build on the success of our last show, to bring you another great event for 2015. Our idea is to bring the village alive by stepping back in time.

You can expect to see an array of Military Vehicles, both old and new. Most of these will be on the field, with hopefully a few dotted around the village too. A great picture opportunity!
There will be great trade stands to look around, living history exhibits and NAAFI to enjoy a tea & doughnut.

We will also have living history groups, who will be set up on the field and parading through the Lacock Village streets. WW2 period dress is encouraged to make Lacock Village come alive with the sights and sounds of the 1940's.
  • Over 70 Military and Vintage vehicles booked in
  • 16 Living History groups
  • Lots of Trade Stalls
  • Dakota fly-by

Achtung! Germans on bicycles in  Lacock High Street...call the Frome Spits!

'ere, can I interest you in some silk underwear, darlin?'
The Americans are coming..
George Formby entertaining the troops..
'Oi, I've just cleaned that car..'

'ooh, hello soldier, what's your name, Check Point Charlie?..'
